This action emphasizes the SYSCOM focus on implementing cost-effective and
integrated business practices to better support the Navy. Procured services will
support all phases of weapon systems acquisition and life-cycle support covering 22
functional areas including System Design Documentation and Technical Data Support,
Software Engineering, Development, Programming, Network Support, Reliability,
Maintainability, Availability Support, Human Factors, Performance, Usability
Engineering Support, Configuration Management Support, Information System
Development, Information Assurance, Information Technology Support, and Training
Support.
